In episode 12 of Ishq Kills, aired on 4th May 2014, Dr. Kartik gets married to Priya Priya admits her husband, Akhil, to a sanatorium, as he is alcoholic and his lever is damaged. Dr. Kartik is fascinated with Priya. Priya tries to seduce Akhil, but in vain. Later, Dr. Kartik offers a lift to Priya as she is drenched in rain. He develops an intimate relationship with Priya. Later, Akhil dies. Akhil's mother complains to the police against Dr. Kartik. However, Kartik is proved innocent and he gets married to Priya.
